
Firefighters were called to a fire at a wood yard today.
The incident happened at a site between Richmond and Ravensworth.
Crews were called at 2.16pm to reports of a fire in a pile of wood chippings.

The fire started accidentally when embers from controlled burning ignited the chippings.
A crew from #Richmond are at a fire in the yard of a saw mill. They have requested another appliance from #Leyburn to assist. with water.

The Richmond crew used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. The Leyburn crew was called to provide extra water.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the crews gave advice on controlled burning in a wood yard.
