Firefighters were call to a fire in a farm boiler house yesterday.
Crews from Richmond, Leyburn and Northallerton attended the incident near Catterick Garrison, which was reported at about 1.30pm.
The fire involved a biomass boiler.
A spokesperson for Richmond Fire Station said crews managed to quickly attack and knock the main fire but extensive damage had already been caused.
Breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used by firefighters.
