Firefighters from Leyburn and Richmond were called to reports of a farm building on fire today.
The incident in Swinithwaite was reported at about 3.30pm.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was out on their arrival.
The blaze was caused by an electrical fence battery unit.
Crews stripped away the timber wall to check for fire spread.
