Firefighters were called to a fire at a farm in Wensleydale this morning.

The blaze occurred at farm buildings at Preston-under-Scar.

Crews were called at around 9.30am.

Firefighters from Leyburn, Reeth and Colburn, Richmond attended the incident.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and rescue Service said hay bales inside a building caught fire.

They said at 11am on Saturday that firefighters were still at the scene but the blaze was “well under control”.

The fire service said the cause was thought to be accidental.

Firefighters were called to a large barn fire at the same location in July 2018.
