Firefighters were called to a large fire in a field near Colburn yesterday.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Richmond and Bedale were called to the incident at about 3.15pm on Friday afternoon.
They arrived to find a large pile of tyres and wood on fire near a wood.
The crews left at around 5pm.
The incident caused a large amount of smoke which could be seen for a large area.
