Firefighters called to Gilling West house fire

Firefighters were called to a house fire in Gilling West last night.

The incident happened in the High Street, with emergency services called at about 10.20pm.

Fire crews from Richmond, Colburn and neighbouring brigade Darlington responded to the fire.

Crews extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one main jet, a thermal imaging camera, small tools and a triple extension ladder.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The cause was accidental and there were no injuries involved.”
