Firefighters were attended after a report of a building on fire in Wensleydale yesterday.
Leyburn and Reeth crews were sent out at about 6.15pm to the incident in Carperby.
On arrival, crew confirmed this to was a false alarm.
The incident was actually controlled burning in the open which was under supervision.
Advice was given to those present.
