Firefighters were called out to an incident in Middleton Tyas on Friday night.
A crew from Richmond attended a house at about 9pm following a report of a water leak affecting electrics inside the property.
Firefighters assisted the occupier in isolating water inside property, making areas inside the property safe and giving advice.
