Firefighters rescue teenagers stuck in swing doing TikTok challenge

Firefighters have rescued two teenagers doing a TikTok challenge who got stuck in a swing.

The incident happened in a park in Catterick Garrison.

Firefighters from Richmond attended the rescue.

The teenagers had lost all feeling in their legs, couldn’t stand up and were in a lot of pain in the abdominal area by the time they were rescued, the fire service said.

They were advised to visit the hospital.

A North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We had to use e-draulic cutters to get them out.

“As you can see in the picture that’s all that’s left of the swing.

“Please don’t take part in these challenges that could involve you getting hurt of stuck.

“Think about the impact that causes on the community with the park missing a swing now.”

While the crew was dealing with this incident, they were delayed in attended a road traffic collision.

“Luckily no one was seriously injured,” the spokesperson added.
