Firefighters from across North Yorkshire are tackling a blaze involving straw bales and a field near Middleton Tyas.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to the incident at about 3pm.
Fire engines from Richmond, Northallerton, Leyburn and Reeth have been sent to the scene.
A water bowser from Tadcaster has also been deployed to assist crews.
The fire is understood to have started in straw bales before spreading to the surrounding field.
The incident remains ongoing and further details are expected to be released later.
