Firefighters are continuing to tackle a major fire involving about 1,000 hay bales inside an agricultural building near Barningham.
Crews from Richmond and Reeth were called to the incident at 7.47am this morning, with additional support from two fire engines from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, along with a water bowser.
Firefighters have been using two hose reel jets and two main 45mm jets to bring the blaze under control.
Crews have also been working closely with the farmer to create a fire break to help prevent the flames from spreading, while livestock in nearby buildings have been moved to safety.
The incident remained ongoing at 5pm as firefighters continue to extinguish the fire.
