Firefighters were called out twice in less than four hours today to tackle separate hay bale fires in Marsett.
The first incident was reported at 11.27am, when a crew from Leyburn attended after smoke was seen in the open.
On arrival, firefighters found a number of hay bales on fire. The blaze was extinguished using wildfire tools and a hose reel jet.
Later the same day, at 3.15pm, a crew from Hawes was called to another report of smoke in the open in Marsett.
Firefighters again discovered two hay bales had caught fire and used a hose reel jet and small tools to bring the blaze under control.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
