Firefighters called after car rolls into pond

Firefighters were called out this morning after a car rolled into a shallow pond.

The incident occurred in Moor Road, Leyburn, at around 1.20am.

North Yorkshire Fire and rescue Service said a crews from Leyburn responded to reports that a car which had rolled into a shallow pond.

A spokesperson added: “Crews inspected the scene. No persons were trapped or injured and advice was given.”

In a separate incident, firefighters dealt with a chimney fire on Gilling West yesterday.

Crews from Richmond were called at about 7.30pm,

Firefighters used chimney rods, a 13.5 meter ladder and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire with the cause believed to be accumulation of soot.
