Acclaimed folk trio Sherburn, Bartley, Sanders will bring their blend of traditional and contemporary folk music to Reeth Memorial Hall next weekend.
The concert on Saturday, July 18, will see concertina player Chris Sherburn, guitarist Denny Bartley and fiddle and viola player Emily Sanders perform a programme of songs and tunes that has earned them a reputation as one of the country’s most entertaining live folk acts.
Sherburn and Bartley have been performing together since 1993, both as a duo and as members of the much-loved folk band Last Night’s Fun. Their concerts combine powerful songs, lively instrumental performances and quick-witted banter, ensuring that every performance is different.
The duo was joined by Emily Sanders in 2016, adding rich vocal harmonies, fiddle and viola to the band’s distinctive sound. As well as providing a female lead vocal on a number of songs, Sanders has introduced a repertoire of English folk music that complements the trio’s Celtic and traditional influences.
Organisers say audiences can expect an evening of outstanding musicianship, memorable songs and plenty of humour.
The concert begins at 8pm, with doors opening at 7.30pm.
Advance tickets cost £17, rising to £19 on the door, while under-16s can attend for half price.
