Food bank appeals for donations after handing out 450 meals

A Richmondshire food bank has appealed for more stocks after handing out food for 450 meals in a week.

The StoreHouse run by the Influence Church in Richmond says its shelves are empty and it urgently needs new supplies.

A spokesperson said: “We have had some amazing donations which helped us give out 450 meals this week. Due to this our shelves are empty so we would love your help.”

Here is a list of the items they are short of:

  • Tinned pasta
  • Tinned beans
  • Cereal
  • Porridge
  • Pasta /curry/ chilli Sauces
  • Noodles
  • Tinned Potatoes
  • Tinned veg
  • Tinned soup
  • Tinned fish
  • UHT milk
  • Jam/spread
  • Rice pudding
  • Custard
  • Biscuits
  • Toilet roll
  • Cordial Juice

If you are in need of a food parcel, StoreHouse is open at the church on Victoria Road from 4pm to 6pm on Thursdays.

Donations can be left at the church from Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.

  1. we have hens, and did take 6 x 6 eggs to the food bank each week, always asking to return empty cartons as they cost 15p each, no boxes were every retuned so we have stopped taking eggs there
