Coverdale attraction The Forbidden Corner has announced plans for a string of Halloween-themed events this October.
From October 22, every corner of the park will be decorated and there will be a special treasure hunt around the park as well as themed quizzes to take part in.
There will also be a fancy dress competition on October 31 with prizes for all who enter.
Decorations start at the visitor centre itself which will feature ghouls and monsters, giving visitors a taste of what’s to come.
Throughout the park, there will be an array of new props and features from spiders and skeletons to cursed pirates and a few surprises too that will be revealed on the day.
Halloween events at The Forbidden Corner started out several years ago with staff dressing up, but it has since grown into a much bigger event with every year building on the last with improved attractions and sculptures.
Many of the props visitors will see when they attend are actually made on-site and so are completely unique to the park.
Darren Weatherill, operations manager, said: “We are all very excited for this year’s events and the staff are already trying to decide on their own costumes.
“If you have visited us for Halloween before or this year will be your first time there will be something exciting and new to see for everyone.
We’ve already heard some strange noises coming from the bushes and plants around the park and we do think something mysterious is afoot this Halloween, but don’t want to give too much away.”
He added: “So much work goes into making our Halloween event great for our customers, it is always nice to see them put so much into their costumes.
“Every year we are blown away by the imagination and creativity in some of their outfits.”
The forest that makes up most of the park will start to change as Autumn rolls in making it the perfect backdrop for Halloween, giving the park a unique and spooky feel.
Things are also looking extremely exciting as the team are already busy planning more events for next year including a night-time scare event with live actors.
