The former Premier Meats shop in Colburn has been put up for sale.

The North-East butchers blamed staffing shortages and a 300 per cent increase in energy costs as factors when they announced the closure earlier this month.

The store opened in 2016 after buying and converting the former Colburn Lodge pub.

The sale is being handled by Youngs RPS.

The sale details say: “The property comprises a former public house which has been extensively altered and extended to provide a modern retail facility for the sale of frozen and fresh meats and foods, with a licensed restaurant/café, together with a warehouse, additional storage, staff/office accommodation and a first floor manager’s flat, which could be used for staff or office accommodation.”
