Highways England have announced that Fort Bridge will reopen next week.
The bridge over the A1 links Catterick Garrison to Catterick Racecourse and Brompton-on-Swale.
It was knocked down and has been rebuilt as part of the improvements to the A1.
The bridge will reopen to the public on Tuesday.
Tom Howard, Highways England’s senior project manager, said in a letter to residents: “We appreciate that Fort Bridge provides an important local connection between communities to the east and west sides of the A1 and are grateful for the patience shown during the resurrection of the bridge.”
Resurfacing work on Catterick North Bridge will begin on November 24 with traffic diverted on Fort Bridge.
This work is scheduled to take three weeks.
The reopening of Fort Bridge should coincide with the completion of the new junction at White Shops which is scheduled to be finished by next weekend.

About bloody time too.
I passed Whiteshops today and there was no one working. There was a massive amount of machinery and I would say it will take men working 24/7 for it to be completed on time.
Yeah about time. Do we get any compensation? Ho ho ho
