Free history walks around Richmond

German prisoners of war and crashed aeroplanes are just two of the topics discussed on a history walk which takes place around Richmond every Thursday during the summer holidays.

The walks are run by Will, a volunteer at the Green Howards Museum.

Participants will hear about the town’s long connection with the military, including an aircraft which crashed, the teenagers who lost their lives in the First World War and the road built by prisoners of war.

The walk takes about an hour and is suitable for all the family.

It is free, but donations to the museum would be very gratefully received.

Participants should meet at the museum just before 2pm.
