A new initiative to offer support to Richmondshire businesses will be launched next week.

The district council has teamed up with the Growth Hub of York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to provide free one to one sessions with business growth managers.

The new service is available to existing companies looking to grow, to people hoping to set up a new business and to those with ideas who need an expert to run them by.

The Growth Hub provides access to experts with a wide range of support across subjects including business planning, marketing, VAT, budgeting, managing staff, access to funding and advice on business structure.

“Richmondshire is home to many successful businesses but getting the advice they often need to help expand and develop can be difficult,” said Council Leader, Councillor Angie Dale.

“Being able to offer this service to them at no cost through a partnership with the LEP is excellent news.  We look forward to seeing our businesses thrive and prosper as a result.”

Growth Hub manager, Andrew Raby added: “The establishment of these surgeries reaffirms our commitment to supporting small and micro companies, who make up the majority of the businesses across the region. Our Growth Hub, How’s Business, is perfectly placed to help deliver these surgeries and we hope lots of businesses in the area make use of them.”

The hour long sessions – which start on November 5 – will take place fortnightly at the district council’s Mercury House headquarters in Richmond.

Places must be booked in advance by contacting  01748 901037 or by e-mailing business@richmondshire.gov.uk.
