Fund for Richmondshire festivals and events opens for applications

A new funding stream to support small scale festivals and events in 2022 across Richmondshire has opened for business.

The district council’s £50,000 Platinum Jubilee Festivals and Events Fund offers grants of up to £2,000 to local community groups to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee this year.

2022 marks the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and with a June bank holiday weekend of celebrations already being planned nationally the district council is hoping that local community groups and organisations will join in with the festivities – and use this funding stream to help.

The council hope the new fund will see a host of Jubilee-inspired festivals and events organised throughout 2022.

Events may take place at any point during 2022, but they must demonstrate a clear link to the year-long celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee in terms of theme and activity planning in order to qualify for funding.

Applications can be made for between £1,000 and £2,000.
