Groups still have time to apply for funding to support small scale festivals and events across Richmondshire.
The district council-run scheme has now been widened to allow churches of all denominations to apply for grants.
The £50,000 Platinum Jubilee Festivals and Events Fund offers grants of up to £2,000 to local community groups to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee this year.
The district council says it is hoping that local community groups and organisations will join in with the national festivities – and use this funding stream to help.
Events may take place at any point during 2022, but they must demonstrate a clear link to the year-long celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee in terms of theme and activity planning in order to qualify for funding.
Applications can be made for between £1,000 and £2,000.
