Funding available for Richmondshire community projects

A scheme that has already helped fund more than 610 Richmondshire community projects is still open for applications.

Richmondshire District Council’s five area partnerships each have £10,000 to award to local projects with the current round of bids closing on July 30.

Grants awarded in previous years have gone to parish councils, community and sports groups for everything from large equipment purchases to smaller community noticeboards.

In 2020 £84,668 was given to 55 local schemes.

A maximum of 75 per cent of the total project cost can be awarded with grants of up to £1,000 available for projects identified in a parish plan, local community action plan, are partnership action plan or through community consultation.

The five partnerships cover Upper Dales, Central (including Richmond), Lower Wensleydale, Garrison and North Richmondshire.
