Funding available for Richmondshire festivals and events

Groups still have time to apply for funding to support festivals and events across Richmondshire.

The Large Festivals and Events Fund 2022 can help with up to £7,000 in grant aid.

It is one of two funds set up by the council to help with celebrations in 2022.

There are already a significant number of annual established festivals and large scale events across Richmondshire which the fund can support as well as new large-scale events.

There are grants of up to £5,000 for a single day event and up to £7,000 for an event held over two or more consecutive days.

Applications will be considered on a monthly basis throughout 2022 until all the funds have been allocated.  All allocated funds must be spent by 31 December.

It is expected that applications will be received from the organisers of festivals and events which deliver a significant benefit to the local economy through attracting visitors to the district, and which positively promote community engagement and participation.

The second grant scheme for community groups – the Platinum Jubilee Festivals and Events Fund offers grants of up to £2000.

Events may take place at any point during 2022, but they must demonstrate a clear link to the year-long celebration of the Jubilee in terms of theme and activity planning in order to qualify for funding.

Applications can be made for between £1,000 and £2,000.
