A scheme that has helped fund more than 550 Richmondshire community projects has another £50,000 in its pot.
Richmondshire District Council’s five area partnerships will each receive £10,000 to award to local projects.
The authority’s corporate board last night this week agreed to continue to support the partnership grants, which have helped secure around £1.8m in funding for the district.
The grants have been awarded to parish councils, community and sports groups for everything from large equipment purchases to smaller community noticeboards.
“This is a vital funding scheme for local projects – we have already allocated almost £356,000 to local projects and with this new funding stream we can look forward to helping many more,” said leader of the council, Councillor Angie Dale.
The five partnerships cover Upper Dales, Central (including Richmond), Lower Wensleydale, Garrison and North Richmondshire.
