Funny, frank and provocative play tours Richmondshire venues

A frank, fun and provocative look at the trials and tribulations of modern life as seen through the eyes of a young black woman will be staged at venues across Richmondshire.

The play Portrait tells the story of sassy teenager Candice, played by actor Rachael Ofori.

Inspired by actor Racheal’s own experiences, Portrait uses music, poetry, humour and dance to examine identity and role models, whilst simultaneously challenging cultural stereotypes.

This story continues after the adverts:

After a hit run at Edinburgh, appearances on BBC front row, the Women of the World Festival and a UK tour, Racheal will now visit Richmondshire during a tour of Yorkshire.

This performance is part of the Rural Arts North Yorkshire youth project, Create Tour.

The performances will include a curtain raiser performed by young people from Richmond School.
