Green waste was left in the wrong bins at Brompton-on-Swale recycling centre last year.

Council officials have urged residents to recycle responsibly after garden waste was dumped in plastic bottle banks.

A large amount of green waste was left in the wrong bins at Brompton-on-Swale recycling centre recently.

Richmondshire District Council has asked residents to use the service properly.

This story continues after the adverts:

A spokesman said: “It has come to our attention that a large amount of garden waste has been dumped into bring banks located within Richmondshire.

“It is imperative that all recycling sites are used responsibly. The misuse of bring banks as seen below will obstruct others from using this valuable service.”

The council has reminded residents that they can subscribe to the green waste collection service here.

The fortnightly service costs £22 a year.

  1. Pffft. The chances of anyone who would do this actually paying £22 a year for a recycling bin is… nil.
