Gayle Mill has reopened to the public, it has been announced.
Owners Cultura Trust say the mill will be open throughout the summer holidays, with special Heritage Open Days planned from September 10 to 19.
The mill has been closed for three years for restoration and maintenance work.
The mill is open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday from 10am until 4pm.
Guided tours take place every hour on the hour.
Visitors can turn up at the mill without pre-booking but under COVID-safe restrictions, numbers are limited so to be assured of places, visitors are asked to call 01969 629348 or email crafts@gaylemill.org in advance.
Cllr Jill McMullon, chair of Hawes and High Abbotside Parish Council, welcomed the news on a recent visit.
“It is wonderful to have this amazing community asset open once again.
“It will add greatly to the diversity of the visitor attractions in Hawes.”
Stuart Parsons, from Gayle Mill, said: “We have opened informally over the last month or so to test our procedures and make sure we can offer a safe and memorable experience.
“Supported by a new guidebook produced by volunteers steeped in the history of the mill, and souvenir photographs that capture its atmosphere, we have something very special to offer.”
