Students and staff are celebrating GCSE success at The Wensleydale School in Leyburn.
This year, 73 per cent of students achieved Grade 4 or above in English and maths and 43 per cent got Grade 5 and above in the two subjects.
In total, 39.7 per cent of students achieved at least one Grade 7, which the school says is well above the national average, and 93 per cent achieved at least one grade 4 compared to the national average of 76.3 per cent.
Headteacher Julia Polley said she was delighted that the hard work had paid off for the year 11s.
“They were an amazing year group and all have achieved the grades they need.
“They were my first full cohort from years 7 to 11 so I’m extremely proud that they now have such a fantastic conclusion to a challenging year.”
