Richmond’s Georgian Theatre Royal has unveiled its Autumn/Winter programme, promising a busy season of drama, comedy, live music and festive entertainment.
Tickets for the new season go on sale on Wednesday, July 1, with organisers highlighting a line-up designed to offer “something for every taste” across several months of performances.
The season opens with Dot Productions’ revival of Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan on September 12, followed by The Loves of Others on October 8, written by Alex Keelan and produced by award-winning HER Productions. The latter has been described as the North’s answer to Abigail’s Party following its premiere in Manchester.
Comedy features strongly throughout the programme, including stand-up from Charlie Baker on September 8 and Daniel Foxx on October 23. Theatre highlights include The Three Musketeers on September 5 and The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town on September 18.
Mikron Theatre Company returns on October 16 with Wensleydale Whey: The Grate Cheese Quest, a comic look at the history of Wensleydale cheese, while John Godber’s The Highwayman will return for two performances on October 30 and 31 following a successful debut last year.
Music fans can look forward to tribute and live performances including 10CCLO on September 4, The West Yorkshire Savoyards on September 26 with The Pirates of Penzance, and Alchemy Live on October 24.
The venue will also host events as part of the Richmond Walking and Book Festival, including talks from Hindpal Singh Bhui on September 19, former Supreme Court president Lady Brenda Hale on September 25, and Horrible Histories creator Terry Deary on September 27.
A highlight of the darker seasonal offerings is Spectres and Spotlights: Stage Fright, an immersive ghost-themed theatre tour running on October 28 and 29.
Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society will also present The Cavern from November 5 to 7, before the season concludes with the venue’s annual pantomime, The Pantomime Adventures of The Little Mermaid, running from December 4 to January 9, 2027.
