Wensleydale RUFC have announced plans for a new girls rugby team.
The U13s team, called Wensleydale Panthers, will launch next season.
The club is currently seeking girls going into school years 7 and 8 in September who would like to join.
Fun sessions will be held throughout the summer for girls to give the sport a try.
Angela Southworth, from the club, said, “In rugby when the girls reach the under 12 age group they are no longer able to play in mixed teams.
“At Wensleydale RUFC we wanted to provide the same opportunities for the girls to be able to continue playing in a friendly local club so Wensleydale Panthers, a name chosen by the players themselves, was created.
“This will also provide an opportunity for new players of all abilities to come and join us and be part of the Wensleydale RUFC community.”
