Pupils at Hunton & Arrathorne Primary School had a day to remember this week when BBC Gladiators Champion 2025, Joe Fishburn, paid a surprise visit.
The gymnast and TV star made his unexpected entrance during a special school assembly on Wednesday, before leading a series of Gladiator-style fitness workshops for all ninety pupils.
PE lead Michelle Tunmore said: “Joe was inspirational for the children – encouraging them all to aspire and achieve their goals. This links really well with one of our school aims: to be happy and healthy.”
The visit proved to be a huge hit with pupils.
Evie Fawcett, aged 10, said: “It was very enjoyable to do the activities and it was really exciting to meet someone from the TV.”
And Austin, aged 7, added: “Today was wonderful because a Gladiator champion came. I was so excited because I am a big fan.”
