CCTV cameras are being installed at two GP surgeries after thieves stole 2,000 litres of heating oil.
The incident occurred over the last three weeks at the Central Dales Practice’s Hawes surgery.
The cameras are being installed at both the Hawes and Aysgarth surgeries.
The practice says people have also been dumping unwanted items at their sites.
The practice said in a statement announcing the installation of cameras: “We are having to install cameras as over the past couple of weeks we have had unwanted items left outside our practices and not only that, we have had our oil tank emptied of 2,000 litres of oil.
“We have been working really hard to keep all of our patients safe through this pandemic and we have had huge expenses so the theft of oil doesn’t help us at all.”
