GPs issue urgent notice after vaccine doses delivered early

Local GPs have issued an urgent notice to patients after having to move people’s vaccine jab day this week.

The change affects anyone who had their first Covid vaccination at Tennants on Saturday, January 9.

These people will have been told to come for their second vaccination on Saturday, March 27.

However, officials say the vaccines were delivered early this week and as a result, will expire a day early.

This means that anyone due to have their second vaccination on Saturday, March 27 needs to go to Tennants tomorrow instead.

If they go on Saturday there won’t be any vaccines available.

A spokesperson for Central Dales Practice said: “Can you help us?

“Can you call anyone you know who had their vaccine early January at Tennants and check their second dose appointment date (written on their vaccine card) – if it says 27/03/21 can you ask them to attend Tennants tomorrow (26 March 2021) between 9am and 4pm.

“We have tried our best to contact everyone but we remember it was a few days where we had bad snow and people came on different days and we are worried some people will slip through the safety net.”
