Grant for Leyburn virtual assistant business

A business that provides virtual assistance to businesses across Richmondshire has itself been helped to flourish.

Hannah Swierstra, from Leyburn, runs Balance VA Services.

The business received with a £1,000 from the district council’s small business grant fund.

She has used the money has been able to give the website an update, take new photos and undergo a marketing health check.

“After being in business for almost two years I realised my marketing needed a big boost,” she said.

“I knew that without a clear strategy and good copy for my website my re-branding wouldn’t make a difference.

“The grant has been a real boost not only to my business but also to my confidence, and I have already signed up one client to my largest email marketing package and a have a couple more in the pipeline.

“Thank you Richmondshire District Council for supporting me.”

The scheme offers up to £1,000 to small businesses under 36 months old to help start and grow.

The fund can be used towards the purchase of equipment, marketing costs and adaptation to premises.
