The Green Howards Museum has launched a recruitment drive for new volunteers to support its busy programme of events.

The museum, based in Richmond’s Market Place, said volunteers play a vital role in its day-to-day work and special activities.

A spokesperson said: “Volunteers are the beating heart of every charity, and at The Green Howards Museum we know that the work we do simply wouldn’t be possible without their dedication and support.

“Now, as we look ahead to a busy calendar, we’re excited to announce that we are recruiting new volunteers to join our events department.”

The role involves a variety of tasks, from greeting and directing visitors to serving food and drinks. Museum staff say it offers a rewarding and flexible way to contribute, with hours tailored to fit around volunteers’ other commitments.

The spokesperson added: “Do you have a friendly, welcoming personality and some free time? Do you enjoy meeting new people and being part of a vibrant team? If so, volunteering at The Green Howards Museum could be the perfect opportunity for you.

“No two events are ever the same, and neither are our volunteers.”
