Gundog scurry planned for this year’s Wensleydale Show

A gundog scurry will be held at the Wensleydale Show for the first time this year.

There will also be a gundog display and problem solving clinic

The gundog arena will be run at the show by gundog expert Andy Brook in conjunction with the Three Ridings Labrador Club.

The main event will be a working gundog scurry competition with a three dummy pick-up and up-and-over hay bales which will all be timed.

There will be novice, open and junior handler competitions with prizes up to fourth place.

Gundog owners can enter on the day and have as many goes as they like.

Other entertainment at the show will include The West Lancs Dog Display Team and Black Watch London Pipes & Drums.

The show takes place in Leyburn on Saturday August 25, 9.30am to 5.30pm; the site is well signposted and has free parking.

A free shuttle bus travels to and from Leyburn and the showground; the postcode is DL8 5JS.
