Colburn Leisure Centre has been kitted out with new fitness machines and free weights.
The upgrade comes after Richmondshire Leisure Trust, the charity which runs the centre, secured more than £35,000 in funding from a number of local partners.
The busiest public leisure facility in the district, Colburn Leisure Centre welcomes over 2,000 people a week to use the growing list of activities and facilities that include the fitness suite, exercise classes, gymnastics, cheerleading , Catterick Touch Rugby, Garrison Red Star Football Club and Jake Hamely Hair.
The centre is also the home venue for the district-wide BURST Activity Scheme, Colburn Youth Club and the MS Society.
Austin Gordon, general manager of the leisure trust, said: “Richmondshire Leisure Trust has exiting plans for centre which include adding in a new sports hall, a new activity room and a remodelled car park.
“These are all future aspirations as the surrounding area expands so does the demand for new facilities.
“The new gym equipment and fitness flooring has been a hit with regulars and with a standard membership costing only £18 per month our membership offer is unbeatable value for money.
“For a limited time only we are holding prices at £18 per month so get in touch now before the prices go up.”
