Hambleton and Richmondshire U15s make national final

The Hambleton and Richmondshire U15s have made a national final after winning their semi-final in Leyburn today.

The team will play the final of the National English Schools’ Football Association U15 Cup at Stoke City’s bet365 Stadium.

The team which draws players from across the two districts beat Manchester on penalties at the end of a game which finished 2-2 in normal time with the North Yorkshire team equalising with seconds to go.

Having beaten Spenvalley after Hartlepool conceded the first round, the boys have already seen off last years winners, the Wirrall.

They then beat Sunderland, then Grimsby before beating Manchester today on penalties.

Manager Steve Collins will warm them up by taking them to the county trials later this month
