The Wensleydale League no longer has an interest in the North Riding Saturday Challenge Cup after Hawes suffered defeat on Saturday.
The Upper Dales side lost 3-2 at home to Linthorpe Academicals in the quarter finals.
Linthorpe took the lead in the 14th minute with a well-taken free kick from the edge of the box
But Hawes responded well and deservedly levelled the game on 32 minutes with a nice finish from Macaulay Acton
Linthorpe were the better team at the start of the second half and went into the lead again with a great finish from 25 yards.
Hawes dug deep, however, and thought they had taken the game to penalties when Tommy Calvert smashed home a penalty in the 85th minute after being brought down in the box, but Linthorpe spoiled the fun by scoring again in the last minute to win the tie.
In the league, Unicorn practically sealed the league title with a 4-2 win over second-placed Leyburn.
Leyburn gave up home advantage due to their pitch being waterlogged, with Unicorn taking advantage of the rules to switch the fixture to their ground.
Unicorn took the lead after six minutes with the Leyburn defence slow to get going, but the score was soon level when Rian Jenkins found the bottom corner.
Leyburn keeper Joe Scott got a strong hand to a Unicorn free-kick but the ball still managed to creep in.
A late challenge on Scott resulted in a yellow card for the visiting striker, although the home side thought a red would have been more appropriate.
The goalkeeper was then lucky not to be given his marching orders when committing a foul outside the box as the last man.
Leyburn levelled again when Sam Taylor beat a couple of players and shot goalwards, an awkward bounce took the ball past the Unicorn keeper.
After the break, Scott was again at the centre of the action when the referee judged a tackle to have been reckless and gave him his second yellow.
Liam Reeves scored from the resulting penalty past stand-on keeper Jack Close.
The ten men of Leyburn pressed for the equaliser and had several good chances, with Harry Saunders being denied a penalty and Mitch Cameron hitting the bar.
But Unicorn made sure of the points with a breakaway goal.
In the remaining game of the day, Reeth beat Askrigg 5-3.
Liam Stacey got two goals for the home side, with Nathan Howard, Mark Taylor and Antony Young also netting.
Jake and George Cockerill netted for Askrigg.
It was announced this week that Spennithorne and Harmby would not finish the season, meaning just seven teams remain in the league.
