Hawes cash machine tampered with

Police are investigating after a cash machine in Hawes was “tampered with”.

The incident, involving the standalone ATM near the town’s Market House, occurred between December 10 and 12.

A spokesperson for Richmondshire police said: “We are currently working with North Yorkshire Police’s organised crime unit to try and identity the suspect or suspects, plus any vehicles involved, so any information you can give will be gratefully received.”

Police have the public to call 101 if they see any vehicles or anyone acting suspiciously around an ATM and if they see anyone actively tampering with the machine please call 999.
