Headteacher praises pupils for resilience and positivity during lockdowm

A Richmond primary school headteacher has praised pupils for showing resilience and positivity during the lockdown.

Speaking ahead of the last day of school before half -term, Katie Whitehead, head of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School, praised students for their efforts during the last half term.

She said: “A huge well done to all our children at St Mary’s who have been superb this half term, showing such resilience, motivation and positivity in light of Covid-19.

“Thank you to our parents/carers who have fully supported us as a school, ensuring their child continues to thrive.

“The school has been fully supported throughout by the extended community, including governors and parishioners.”

The head also thanked staff, who she said had “adapted to new routines, facilitated multi-platform learning, all, whilst still continuing to be so positive”.

She added: “It has been a challenging situation for us all but ensuring that we work together we have successfully reached half term break where a well and truly deserved rest should be enjoyed by all.”
