Heat exhaustion biker rescued from green lane during busy bank holiday

A stranded off-road biker suffering from heat exhaustion was rescued by Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team during a busy bank holiday period.

The team said it was called out by North Yorkshire Police on Monday afternoon after the rider became stuck on a green lane.

According to the rescue team, the biker had spent some time attempting to free themselves and their motorcycle before eventually succumbing to heat exhaustion.

Volunteers attended the scene, treated the casualty and helped escort them several miles back to the team vehicle.

The incident marked the team’s 21st callout and came just hours after members had assisted with a separate technical rope rescue at Aysgarth Falls.
