Help wanted to find missing dog spooked by fireworks

Tyro has been missing since Saturday night.

Help is wanted to find a missing dog which ran off after being spooked by fireworks.

Tyro, a white bichon frise, ran off in Hawes with his retractable lead still attached at the weekend.

He is still missing this morning despite extensive searches of the area.

The dog ran off at around 9.20pm on Saturday night.

He was last seen heading along Burtersett Road, in Hawes.

Owner Judith Gonsalves, who is on holiday in the area, posted on social media: “We’ve looked around fields and along the road to Burtersett, including reporting to two caravan parks.

“I don’t see how he may have got into a field as they’re all really secure. We’ve looked in the area around the Ropeworks, reported to the tourist information, Spar, emergency dog warden number and Wensleydale vets.

“Some local farmers have also been informed. Lots of people are supporting search for our lovely little dog.

“Any extra help very much appreciated.”
