Access to and from the A1(M) at Catterick is currently blocked after a HGV got stuck.
Witnesses say a lorry has attempted to turnaround on the A6055 on the approach to the junction but has got stuck in mud on the side of the road.
The incident is preventing vehicles getting on to the motorway and getting to Catterick Garrison after coming off the A1(M).
One witness said: “The truck has tried to turn around using them big gateways and went fully on the grass and buried it.”
Another added: “If only there was a roundabout they could have used..”
