A holiday park is seeking permission for a major expansion.

Flowery Dell Lodges, between Richmond and Hudswell, is wanting to build another 27 lodges at the site which has 16 at present.

The new lodges would be erected on land within the current holiday park.

A planning application has been submitted to North Yorkshire Council.

Supporting documents submitted with the application state: “The application seeks to allow the business to expand within the existing site on to well screened land immediately adjacent to the existing lodge development to provide an additional 27 holiday units, these will be developed to a low density across fully screened currently unused land.

“This application will allow this small yet successful rural business to expand and to meet the demands of consumers by providing a greater choice of quality accommodation for customers wanting to visit the park and enjoy Richmond, the surrounding villages, local businesses and attractions throughout the year.”
