Woman airlifted to hospital after collapsing in Bedale

A woman was airlifted to hospital after collapsing while riding a horse.

The incident happened in Bedale at about 12.30pm today.

Great North Air Ambulance was called to assist Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The woman as assessed at the scene by the doctor and paramedic team before being placed in an induced coma and flown to hospital for ongoing treatment.

She was in a critical condition on arrival at James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
