Richmondshire Rocks has been a huge success at the box office, proving there is a real thirst for live outdoor music in the town centre, organisers say.

Hundreds have bought advance tickets for the event this Bank Holiday Sunday, which includes performances by Dan Donnelly of chart-toppers The Levellers, plus Ceiling Demons, Hayley McKay and Mountain Man. The DJs throughout the day will be Avo and Emma of Latin Line Fusion.

Promoter Niall Hickman said: “We could not be any happier with how the ticket sales have gone and I think this proves once again how sorely Richmond Live has been missed.

“We have seven acts playing on the day and at £15 for adults, free for children 14 and under, we think that is great value for money.

“The bands are hugely looking forward to it and the cricket club is all set and ready. We have a mixture of folk, pop, country and rock. It promises to be a memorable day out.”

There will be all-day hot food outlets, sweetie shop, as well as a pop-up bottle bar to compliment the clubhouse bar.

Richmondshire Cricket Club’s main gate on Hurgill Road will open at 12 noon on Sunday and the bands will appear at these approximate times:

  • Isabel Maria 2pm
  • Rosey PM 3pm
  • Zarahruth 4pm
  • Hayley McKay 5pm
  • Dan Donnelly 6pm
  • Ceiling Demons 7pm
  • Mountain Man 8pm

Tickets are still available at www.wegottickets.com or can be bought on the day.
