Hundreds expected at Kite Festival in Richmond this weekend

Hundreds of people are expected at the Kite Festival taking place in Richmond this weekend.

The event is being organised by The Station in Richmond as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations.

It will be held at Richmondshire RUFC’s ground in Theakston Lane, Richmond.

There will be kite displays, kite traders, kite making workshops and refreshments.

Eileen Halliday, The Station manager, said: “It should be a lot of fun for all the family.

“We’ve had people from across Europe enquiring about the event and we hope it will be a boost to traders in the town centre.”

The event runs from 10am on Saturday to 4pm on Sunday.

Admission is free, although donations will be accepted towards The Station’s heritage work.

Parking is available.
