Wensleydale Rotary Club’s annual Wensleydale Wander took place at the weekend.
Both walks began at 9am in Grove Square, Leyburn, though walkers first gathered for registration at The Wensleydale School.
The walks were started by the club president, Ray Wilkinson.
There was a choice of two circular walks, one a 23-mile challenge and a shorter one of 12-miles, both starting and finishing in Leyburn.
There were 312 entrants.
There were liquid refreshments at various checkpoints on both walks.
Organisers say the routes were well sign-posted and marshalled, although there was some confusion after some direction signs were “mischievously removed”.
The walks ended at the school, where a choice of hot soups and cakes, plus more liquid refreshments were served to some very hot and tired walkers.
The event raised money for charity, principally Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
